FOUNDER

Tammy Wilson, MA, LPC, ACS, NCC, RPT-S, ICST

Tammy Wilson is a highly experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, Approved Clinical Supervisor, and National Certified Counselor, dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health care. As a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) and one of only two Internationally Credentialed Sandtray Therapists (ICST) in Michigan, she brings specialized expertise in expressive therapies to her practice.

With advanced training in EMDR and perinatal mental health, Tammy specializes in working with children (3+), adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, ADHD, abuse, college and career transitions, military-related concerns, and perinatal and menopausal mental health issues. â€‹

​At Resilience Counseling & Play Therapy (RCPT), Tammy has created a warm and supportive environment where healing and growth can take place. Her practice includes a welcoming play therapy space for children and a dedicated sandtray therapy area for adults, ensuring that clients of all ages have the tools they need to process emotions and build resilience. She integrates play therapy, sandtray therapy, EMDR, and trauma-focused approaches to help clients heal, regain confidence, and move forward with strength and creativity.

As the only Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor in St. Clair County and surrounding areas, Tammy is committed to helping individuals overcome life’s challenges and embrace their full potential. With compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of trauma and mental health, she empowers her clients to heal, grow, and thrive.

THERAPIST

Traci Wheeler, MA, LLPC

Traci is a Limited Licensed Counselor who earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Ambridge University in 2022. She is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and healing.

Integrating evidence-based practices like trauma-sensitive approaches, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Traci tailors treatment to each client’s unique needs. As an EMDR-trained clinician, she helps clients process and heal from trauma. She works with adolescents and adults facing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, traumatic life events, and life transitions, empowering them on their journey toward growth and well-being.

Melissa Neihof, Counselor Intern

Melissa Neihof

Melissa is a counseling intern at RCPT, completing her final coursework for licensure. She earned her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Asbury University in 2016 and has experience in diverse clinical settings.

Using evidence-based approaches like CBT and Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Melissa provides client-centered care. She is working toward licensure as an LLMFT and LLPC and supports tweens, adolescents, and adults facing depression, anxiety, mood disorders, relationship dynamics, career transitions, and life adjustments. She is committed to creating a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered.

ADMINISTRATOR

Jennifer Thomas, Billing & Insurance Administrator

Jennifer Thomas joined Resilience Counseling and Play Therapy in August 2023 as the Billing and Insurance Administrator. She is dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for clients by verifying benefits and eligibility, managing claims, and overseeing billing processes with accuracy and care. Jennifer’s attention to detail and commitment to client support play a crucial role in the smooth operation of the practice.

Outside of work, Jennifer and her husband, Kevin, love traveling—especially when visiting their grandsons who live out of state. In her free time, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending quality time with friends.

Emma Wilson, Social Media Manager

Emma Wilson

Emma Wilson is the Social Media Manager for Resilience Counseling and Play Therapy, bringing creativity and technical expertise to the practice’s online presence. A graduate of SC4, she is currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Oakland University.

Emma has a passion for digital engagement and enjoys crafting thoughtful content that connects with the community. Outside of her studies and work, she loves spending time caring for and training her dogs, dancing, and creating various artistic pieces. Her creativity and attention to detail help foster an engaging and supportive online space for the practice.
